Appetizers

Bake That Brie Baby

This holiday season my mom sent out a mass e-mail to the family. Included were details for the Thanksgiving gathering, including who was to bring what dish. To my surprise, next to my name it said “Side Dish” and next to my sisters name was “Appetizer”. Apparently when you turn 20, you’re required to contribute. With a family of somewhat-picky eaters, we brainstormed on both and collaborated for the app. Nothing beats a little baked brie.

Take your brie and scoop a 1/2 cup of jelly on top. We had boysenberry and it was delicious. I’ve also had baked brie with apricot jam, fig spread, and raspberry jelly on top. Really anything sweet will work, even honey.  Baked Brie-3
Sprinkle some slivered almonds on top and throw it in the oven for 10-15 minutes. Baked Brie-4
We cut up a few apples for those of us that were trying to save room for the turkey and stuffing that was yet to come. Baked brie is great with any sort of cracker or fruit.

Here we have your typical pretzel crisps and crackers along with apple slices (unpictured) for dippage. Baked Brie-8Dip away and keep this recipe in the back of your book for ANY occasion.
